In this review, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro will be thoroughly examined in order to discover the improvements Samsung has made. Hence, I will review the smartphone’s design, display, camera, battery, security & sensors, and storage. Finally, I will point out the strong and weak points of this smartphone. At the end of this review, you will have gotten substantial information about the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro.

My Initial Thoughts

As you would expect, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro comes with more improvements compared to its pre-released siblings – the Samsung Galaxy J3 Sky and the Galaxy J3 Luna Pro. It is superior and also more advanced.

Some of the easily noticeable improvements include its increased screen and RAM size. Spec-wise, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro promises to offer a remarkable performance at an affordable price. More so, Samsung designed this smartphone well enough to look more expensive than it is. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro is well-built for a budget smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro Design, Dimension & Weight Review

A look at the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro will immediately bring the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro to mind. For someone who is not familiar with the original J7, all you need to do is place the two phones side by side, and you’ll get what I’m saying. For instance, they both feature a 5.5-inch display. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro wears a shiny black color that adds to its overall beauty. However, this causes the smartphone to retain fingerprints and oil stains. Also, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro is only available in black color. This is a bit of a disappointment for those who aren’t fond of the black color. On a brighter note, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro’s design has some good things to be excited about. For example, you’ll be surprised by how thin the smartphone is. It measures 149 x 76.2 x 8.3 mm. Not only is it surprisingly thin, but the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro is relatively light too. At 168.9 g, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro doesn’t feel heavy. Its favorable dimension makes it fit perfectly in the hand and pocket. Moreover, its neatly curved edges and sides improve the overall feel of the smartphone. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro’s lightweight could be attributed to its construction material. It is no surprise that this smartphone is made from plastic. After all, most Samsung smartphones in this price range are built with plastic. However, the plastic on this smartphone feels cheap. Moving on to other design and build features, Samsung placed a side-firing speaker and the power button on the right side of this device. The left side features just the volume rocker. Meanwhile, the top of the smartphone houses just the noise cancellation mic. Moving down to the bottom, you get a headphone jack, USB charging port, and a mic. The back of this device features an 8 MP rear camera and a LED flashlight – both placed on a slim horizontal strip. You will also find a Samsung logo below the camera. Furthermore, there’s a recent apps button, a home button, and a back button positioned in the order listed below the display. The top of the display features the front camera, earpiece, and sensor. In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro scores a seven in this review for its nice build and design.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro Display Features Review

The display is one aspect where the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro shines. It features a 5.5-inch HD display that has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Like most Samsung smartphones, this smartphone’s display is an extremely bright TFT LCD display. With this smartphone, Samsung perfectly upheld its reputation for making excellent displays. Despite the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro’s low cost, Samsung delivered a display that anyone would find amazing. Moreover, the outdoor visibility of the smartphone is just as great as its indoor visibility. However, the 5-inch screen might not be considered big enough by some. Nonetheless, its 72.3% screen-to-body ratio makes the view on the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro look a bit wider. In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro scores a seven in this review for its colorful and vibrant display.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro Camera Features Review

From what we’ve seen in previously released Samsung smartphones, the brand usually pushes itself to offer great cameras in its smartphones. The same could be said in the case of this smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro features an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. These cameras may not be the best, but they do offer clear pictures – based on our tests. Moreover, the LED flash on the back of the smartphone improves the clarity of pictures taken with the rear camera in a low-light environment. The front camera also allows you to take clear selfies even under direct sunlight. However, there is an obvious variation in quality between both cameras since they have different pixel values. They both perform well in well-lit environments, but the front camera misses more details compared to the rear camera. One good thing, however, is that both cameras can record in full HD (1080p) at 30 FPS. Overall, the cameras performed well for a smartphone of this range. Hence, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro scores a seven in this review.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro Battery Life and Talk Time Review

Samsung equipped Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro with a 3,300 mAh battery. This battery capacity is impressive because its size indicates long battery life. Fortunately, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro offers long battery life, as expected. It can last an entire day on average to exhaustive use. Moreover, the battery on this smartphone is removable. This allows you to replace the battery with another fully charged one when it gets drained. Moreover, having a removable battery allows you to easily replace it if it gets bad. Based on its rating, you can expect a talk time of 31 hours and a 22 days standby time from this smartphone. In our test, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro lasted for 16 hours with data usage and simultaneous running apps. From this test, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro didn’t perform beyond my expectations, but its performance was good regardless. Therefore, it scores an eight in this review.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro Storage Options & Performance Review

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro features the regular storage capacity common with smartphones of its range. It comes with 16 GB of internal storage. As usual, about half of this storage space is consumed by the operating system. Technically, you have just 8 GB of space to store your files, music, pictures, and apps. Most users might find this sufficient enough for their storage needs. However, if you are the type of user who downloads files frequently, you will quickly run out of storage space. Fortunately, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro supports a storage upgrade with a microSD card. You can expand your storage by up to 256 GB. Hence, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro scores a seven in this review for its impressive storage option.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro Security Features & Sensors Review

Sensors used in modern smartphones are a result of the continuous evolution in smartphone technology. These sensors have been developed to make smartphones more advanced and hence, more useful. Additionally, sensors make our smartphones more intelligent and more aware of our environmental conditions. Like other modern smartphones, Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro also comes with a good variety of sensors. One of the sensors the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro comes with is an accelerometer that senses the changes in the orientation of the smartphone. For instance, if you rotate the device in landscape mode, all icons on the screen will move to landscape mode – the same is the case when you rotate back to portrait mode. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro comes with a gyro sensor that helps the accelerometer understand the orientation of your smartphone. It adds an extra level of precision so the smartphone’s 360-degree photospheres look more impressive. Furthermore, Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro also offers a proximity sensor. This sensor helps to detect how close the phone is to an external object and dims the phone’s display. One particular benefit of the proximity sensor is to automatically dim the phone’s display when you are making a call. This saves battery and prolongs battery life. Unfortunately, this smartphone doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor for security. You only get the regular pattern and password lock features. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro scores an eight in this review for its good sensor selection.

My Final Thoughts

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro is an excellent option for people who are on a budget but also need a good phone. It offers good value for its price. Considering its good camera, beautiful display, and excellent storage option, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro is a good bargain. I hope you found this Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro review helpful.
